Spark an Adventure at Park Butte Lookout

Take Your Adventure to New Highs at Park Butte Lookout

At Lazy Bee Gardens, we spark many adventures. However, with so many stunning locations in such close proximity, it can be hard to decide where to hike. Do you want serene alpine lakes or mountain lookouts? Open meadows or panoramic views? If you’re looking for a hike that has it all, you’ll want to spark an adventure at Park Butte lookout.

We teamed up with Jerdan and Madi for our adventure after meeting them through the cannabis industry. They recently completed this hike and offered to take us. So we feel fortunate they’ve shared such a special location with the Lazy Bee Gardens community.

Majestic Mountain Views

From the moment you step on the trail you’re met with majestic mountain views. The hike to Park Butte lookout starts along a wooden pathway. There’s a picturesque field to your left and the tip of Mt. Baker to your right. We already want to stop for photos, but Jerdan and Madi assure us the best is yet to come.

Further up the trail you walk through a rock field. We approach what Jerdan jokingly calls “the chocolate river” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Sure enough, the glacial runoff is a cloudy brown similar to chocolate milk. Although we don’t recommend drinking it.

We hike a little further before deciding to take a smoke break. Our gelato strain is a nice daytime hybrid, so grind up a bowl for our Miwak Junior pipe. Flavors of berry and diesel fill the fresh mountain air, as our adventure is just beginning.

The Hills are Alive With the Smell of Ganja

About two-thirds of our way up, we come to the most serene meadow with an epic view of Mt. Baker. For a second, we feel like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music. Maybe it’s the weed, or maybe it’s time to smoke again.

So smoke we do as the hills came alive with the smell of ganja. Between handfuls of freshly picked wild huckleberries, we share a joint overlooking the mountain. Besides, sungrown Clean Green Certified cannabis just tastes better with a view.

We also admire our beautiful nugs of Slurricane. This new Lazy Bee strain is a Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch cross. An indica dominant hybrid, we can’t help but fawn over her purple hues and bright orange hairs against the fall colors.

The View from the Top

After our meadow smoke break, we trek upward the last three-fourths mile. Beautiful boulders and reflective alpine lakes are everywhere. We can’t wait to see the view from the top.

As we round the corner and come up the hill, we spot Park Butte lookout. Perched atop a rocky peak, it has 360 mountain views. This historic fire lookout built in 1932 is one heck of a spot to spark an adventure.

We pack a bowl of Sour Tsunami CBD to mellow our muscles from the hike. This Sour Diesel x NYC Diesel cross is loaded with citrus flavors. It’s also packed with CBG, a minor cannabinoid but one of our favorites.

Madi and Jerdan spark one last joint before we hike down during sunset. As we descend the lookout tower, a near full moon starts to rise. We feel so thankful to call Washington State home. It’s truly a magical place to spark an adventure.
